They also contribute to Musashi’s transformation from an exceptionally strong swordsman who uses brute strength to crush his enemies to the more controlled and strategic Musashi who defeats Japan’s other great swordsman, Sasaki Kojiro, at the movies end. There are several side stories and all are interesting. The story is excellent, the action scenes are exceptionally well choreographed, and the cast play their parts perfectly. I have watched it twice since I received my order and although it is four hours long I was never bored. Miyamoto Musashi (2014) is one of the best samurai films, one of the best action films, and one of the best Japanese films I have ever viewed.
